Hey Pig Daddy.
ReplyDelete1) in your application, you need to add "be" after "to be eligible as a Champion...must BE present"
2) Where do we mail in the app???
I see that the entry fee has rose significantly this year. Will there be prize money awarded?
ReplyDeleteThanks for pointing that out, the most important part nonetheless. We got it fixed.
ReplyDeleteGreat question. We are sensitive to the price issue and realize it's higher than last year. Nonetheless, our contest remains Braggin' Rights.
The fees have increased mainly to help offset the costs associated with change in venue. And in order to maintain the quality of our bbq cook-off, we had to raise to raise them.
In addition, please keep in mind that our event benefits our charity, Bridge Communities, Inc. Last year we raised over $1,000 and this year we are hoping to do a little better.
We are planning to have two bands this year as well as provide additional ammenities.
I hope this helps. Thank you so much.
IM hoping to get my app in soon Tom..and hey 60 bucks is still cheap for a BBQ comp..im used to 300 buck and up entry fees. Also how big are the spots going to be? Will I have room for 5x8 cargo trailer?
ReplyDeleteHey there Bill, so good to hear from you! Happy to see you may be competing. You can definately count on a 10x15 space. We will have a lot more room this year and if anything may give each contestant a 20' wide space instead. We're still in the midst of planning and trying to figure exactly where all everything will go, so plan on a 10x15 with a possibilty of 10x20 or maybe 15x20. We are actually meeting tomorrow to discuss, so I may have a better idea. Once I find out for sure, I'll let you know. Many thanks!
ReplyDeleteno problem..im sure i can cram what i need in my truck but if there was breathing room the cargo trailer is always easier..im assuming this is in that parking lot with all the metered parking just north of track and a block or two west of train station?
ReplyDeleteHey Bill, Yes, it is the metered lot just north of the tracks and west of the station. It's a very big lot, until you start planning placement of where everything is going to go, which we did last evening. I'd count on a 10x15 space. If it turns out we have a bit more room, we will give everyone a little extra space.
ReplyDeleteok thanks for the heads up..i know that lot very well..racked up a lot of parking tickets there when i used to take that train downtown :)
